Pop culture... New and Old

Sin City: Recut - Extended - Unrated

Got this for my birthday. ^_^ I have only one word for this movie: bloody! Blood, blood, and more blood... Yick. But all in all, a really cool film noir... In black and white, with a few splashes of colour, and a frikken downright creepy Elijah Wood. And a talking severed head. Nothing can get any cooler. I also like the fact how they never seem to die until they want to die. Rockin' . Only problem is that the original version is R-rated. Some scenes are pretty gross...

Bobby Pendragon: The Merchant of Death

Pretty cool, considering the fact that I had actually read the French translation of an American book... I am now on the second one. Sad, considering that Bing only managed to get the librarian to buy three Pendragon books, and that our school has a tight book budget. I've been bothering the librarian for goodness knows how long for the sequel to Eragon.
Anyways, this is the story of a young teenager named Bobby Pendragon who turns out to be a Traveler (a person who can travel by portals call flumes to travel through time and worlds), and he has to go to a place called Denduron to stop an evil man called Saint Dane, who wants to destroy Halla (the universe), and collect the pieces to make his own universe. Anyways, very cool.

V for Vendetta
Now this movie, I wanna see. Sadly, once again, it's R-rated. And it's made by Wachowski brothers, too... And, of course, I want to see Natalie Portman get her hair shaved off. Why? No idea. And, of course, Mr. Hugo Weaving himself... First Agent Smith, then Elrond, then V?

The Da Vinci Code

And this, this is gonna be a big one. That is, is the lawsuit goes well for Dan Brown. And since Fan-Fan wants to see the movie for Tom Hanks and only for Tom Hanks (he's how many years older than her, for stars' sakes?), and I just wanna see it, period, we're going. Unless Dan loses. Then, which he shouldn't since he can get a real decent lawyer with all the profit he got for both "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" (which I actually liked better, for some reason).

Trainspotting

Now, this, I wanna see. Mostly because Maria presented it very well during the French oral. Also because Ewan McGregor's in it. ^^

Moulin Rouge!

Ok. I admit it. I like films with Ewan McGregor in them. I can't help it... He's adorable! Now, if only I can borrow this from the library. (yep, I haven't seen it.) Oh, and I also love the cinematography and the costumes. And I want to laugh at McGregor's singing. (I'm so evil.)
