Misfortunes at college. And it's only my first week.

Time passes quickly when you're having fun.

I was enjoying summer break, when all of a sudden, before one could say "What the bloody hell's going on?", I was running around in circles like a madman through the twisted wings of Dawson College, trying to find 3F-37.

Man, what the heck happened? Which sick son of a gun invented college? Hitler persecuted millions of Jewish people who never did any harm to him, bin Laden killed thousands of Americans who never cut in line in front of him, Micheal Vick set innocent pit bulls against each other (seems like he won't have anyone to pull him out of a flaming building), and some prick decided to torture billions of wanna-be intellectuals with college. Goddamned evil, all of them.

It seems that the further up the education ladder, the worse it gets. I never went to daycare, but I remember Kindergarten was hell. But then again, it was in China. Everything is hell there, unless you're rich... then you're just fine. Elementary was all fun and games. Highschool was fun (though I did not realize it at the time), and now college is torture. I can't wait for the big kahuna: University. Then it's hell on earth. Which would be something like waiting in a line for eternity for books that might not even be there when you get to the end of the line.

My first impressions of Dawson College were: "Man, is it huge in here!", then "Where the hell is the rest of F-wing?", then "I hate calculus. I can't believe it's my first day, and I'm already confused...", then "Man, is it crowded in here, or did I get run over by someone and get a concussion?", then "I HATE Phys-ed!", then "I have been trying to open this god-damned for half an hour... Somebody please kick me!"...

I cringe at my Humanities class: South East Asia Studies. I never chose that class, but because of a damn scheduling problem, I was stuck with that. The teacher has a really soft voice that sometimes lowers to inaudiable. Thank god I sit near the front. The subject seems boring, too. I would kill for Myth, Religion and Science, but it doesn't fit into my schedule.

The books are expensive, too. All my summer allowance, gone. And then some.

I have already started one of my assignments. Was already at page 30 of 33 when I realized that I didn't understand certain things because the teacher wasn't even there yet. It makes me wonder how he'll be able to unload all that theory on us in 1/2 weeks... English teacher is wonderful, too. I seem to have struck the jackpot with my English teachers: they're all really good teachers with a wonderful sense of humour. Except one. I hope to never meet that stale piece of crust ever again.

Overall, it wasn't as bad as I'd feared; not as good as I'd hoped. But my friend did make a prediction: if there ever is another "accident", it will be at Vanier. I'm so relieved. If some twit decided to bring a fake gun to school, there will be casualties: he'll be a piece of nuked toast, and a few unfortunate first-years (most likely including me) will get trampled by the mob.

And I can't believe there's actually 8 floors at Dawson. It looked pretty flat from the outside.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows

Ok, so I gave in to the temptation. I got a 70$ gift certificate... Go figure. The bookstore was completely in French, go figure, but I managed to get "Le Diable s'habille en Prada"(French version of "The Devil Wears Prada", a French Dictionary, and yes, Harry Potter 7 (in English, cause to quote my friend Inny "It's not out in French yet, idiot!"). I could have gotten a Thesaurus, too, but then I realized that I could've gotten one for free last year, so... I always miss out on the freebies... Stupid!

Anyways, I loved it way better than Half-Blood Prince, which, in my memory is a senseless blur(but then again, most of my entire childhood is a senseless blur). Of course, the ending wasn't my thing, and Harry Potter dying and then not dying was really weird. And the duel in the end was a bit confusing (who had Malfoy's wand?)... But then again, to quote my eternally wise buddy, Inny: "Saint Rowling is writing for the money, and it will be impossible to please everyone!".

I was hoping for total Apocalypse, death and destruction everywhere sort of thing. It was close, but they didn't kill off Harry. Also, go Neville! The 19 years later thing and the "All was well" was overkill... They could have just left it with Harry recovering in the arms of Ginny (though I actually prefer Harry/Hermione... I mean, Ginny just seemed a tad radom). I also heard from my god friend Inny that Saint Rowling was supposed to end the series with the word "scar". If I was Rowling, and I decided to be particularily vicious, I would have Harry waking up in the middle of the night, some years later, and have his scar starting to throb again. And like I told Inny, if I were to actually do that, all the rabid HP fans from all over the world will congregate and burn down "Rowlingham Palace".

And the kid's names are a bit unoriginal, and it's like Harry named all his kids! His son and daughter after his own parents, and a son named "Albus Severus Potter"... ("Al Potter, all the time!", or "Al Sever Gore Potter")... LOL....

Poor Snape! He is delicious in his maliciousness. I'll miss him so much, and it's especially touching that he was in love with Lilly Evans all the way to the end. When he killed Dumbly, I was sure that Sev was downright evil, but I've been proven wrong! Thank goodness! RIP, Severus! However, his death seemed a little sudden... But I suppose it's to keep it from becoming melodramatic.

Wonderful conclusion, though!
