Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows

Ok, so I gave in to the temptation. I got a 70$ gift certificate... Go figure. The bookstore was completely in French, go figure, but I managed to get "Le Diable s'habille en Prada"(French version of "The Devil Wears Prada", a French Dictionary, and yes, Harry Potter 7 (in English, cause to quote my friend Inny "It's not out in French yet, idiot!"). I could have gotten a Thesaurus, too, but then I realized that I could've gotten one for free last year, so... I always miss out on the freebies... Stupid!

Anyways, I loved it way better than Half-Blood Prince, which, in my memory is a senseless blur(but then again, most of my entire childhood is a senseless blur). Of course, the ending wasn't my thing, and Harry Potter dying and then not dying was really weird. And the duel in the end was a bit confusing (who had Malfoy's wand?)... But then again, to quote my eternally wise buddy, Inny: "Saint Rowling is writing for the money, and it will be impossible to please everyone!".

I was hoping for total Apocalypse, death and destruction everywhere sort of thing. It was close, but they didn't kill off Harry. Also, go Neville! The 19 years later thing and the "All was well" was overkill... They could have just left it with Harry recovering in the arms of Ginny (though I actually prefer Harry/Hermione... I mean, Ginny just seemed a tad radom). I also heard from my god friend Inny that Saint Rowling was supposed to end the series with the word "scar". If I was Rowling, and I decided to be particularily vicious, I would have Harry waking up in the middle of the night, some years later, and have his scar starting to throb again. And like I told Inny, if I were to actually do that, all the rabid HP fans from all over the world will congregate and burn down "Rowlingham Palace".

And the kid's names are a bit unoriginal, and it's like Harry named all his kids! His son and daughter after his own parents, and a son named "Albus Severus Potter"... ("Al Potter, all the time!", or "Al Sever Gore Potter")... LOL....

Poor Snape! He is delicious in his maliciousness. I'll miss him so much, and it's especially touching that he was in love with Lilly Evans all the way to the end. When he killed Dumbly, I was sure that Sev was downright evil, but I've been proven wrong! Thank goodness! RIP, Severus! However, his death seemed a little sudden... But I suppose it's to keep it from becoming melodramatic.

Wonderful conclusion, though!
